About this event

The architecture of the Museum of International Folk Art is a story unto itself. In true New Mexico fashion, it starts with a broken wagon wheel, and evolves into some of the brightest collectors, architects, and designers of their times - including John Gaw Meem, Harvey Hoshour, and Alexander Girard - working to create a space that would put Santa Fe on the map as a modern international art destination. Explore with Girard researcher Rachel Preston the evolution of the buildings and exhibits, investigating how style would define and evolve the space as the museum evolved into the finest in the world, and offer Santa Fe a place to explore the concepts of modern architecture and design.
